The Lakes of Nainital

Nainital is a famous hill station of Uttrakhand and especially famous for its beautiful lakes. There are a total of 6 lakes under the Nainital. “Tal” is a Hindi word that means Lake. Nainital Lake, Bhimtal, Sattal, Naukuchiatal, Khurpatal, Kamaltal are some beautiful lakes in Nainital and today we will talk about these amazing and beautiful lakes.

• Naini Lake (Nainital): One of the beautiful lakes in Nainital and surrounded by panoramic seven hills Naini lake is the favorite spot of couples around the world.

The north end of lake is called Mallital and the southern end of lake is called Tallital, Both ends have well laid out shopping centers, with beautifully laid of marts and luxury shops.

• Bhimtal Lake: Bhimtal Lake is located near the Bhimtal village sorrounded by green trees, The color of trees reflects on the water making it amazing piece of beauty.

Bhimtal Lake is at a scenic spot with a small island at its center and affords splendid views and visuals of nature’s beauty.

•Sattal Lake: Sattal Lake is a cluster of mysteriously interconnected seven freshwater lakes (Panna Tal, Nal-Damyanti Tal, Hanuman Tal, Sita Tal, Ram Tal, Laxman Tal, Sukha Tal) offering splendors of nature.

•Naukuchiatal Lake: Naukuchiatal Lake is another beautiful lake in Nainital. Naukuchiatal suggests a nine cornered lake. Since the lake is a quite big tourists can go boating for a long time and see a different view from different places within the lake.

•Khurpatal: The emarald blue lake of Khurpatal is another beautiful lake in Nainital and just 12km away from the main city. It is encircled by lofty pine and old cedar trees offering a gorgeous vista of mountains.

•Kamaltal (Lotus Lake): Kamaltal is another lake in the region and is located just opposite Naukuchiatal. This lake has a different name as this lake is abundant with lotus and hence is named Kamaltal (Lotus Lake).
